History, Mission, and Community

We connect people and knowledge to nurture the health and well-being of youth and families

PracticeWise was formed in late 2004 by Drs. Bruce Chorpita and Eric Daleiden. They have been professional colleagues in both academic and commercial interests for over 20 years. Together, they have authored or co-authored over 200 publications, most of which provide the scientific basis for the products and services offered by PracticeWise.

PracticeWise was founded with a mission to connect people and knowledge to nurture the health and well-being of youth and families. Working primarily in children’s mental health, PracticeWise supports individuals working with children and families to be more informed and more prepared, through established knowledge management strategies and resources.

The PracticeWise services include professional training, online information resources, books and guides, organizational consultation, and system of care design.

Our mission is to train, equip, and serve individuals working with children and families struggling with behavioral health challenges in order to help kids get better faster and have the best life possible.

We enable care systems and providers to get much more from science in order to build healthier families and better lives by bringing science and evidence seamlessly into the process of clinical care through child-specific dynamic summaries of the best available research studies, clinical protocols and summaries representing the most common components of evidence-based practices, and clinical dashboards for visualization and management of clinical progress and history.

Our core values are that our professional activities and endeavors are grounded in science, publicly verifiable, and self-correcting.

Our Community

PracticeWise is committed to strengthening communities, supporting families, and improving lives. Through our consultation, training, and online information resources, we help thousands of professionals who work in children’s mental health services systems.

We aim to make your work smarter, more efficient, and more up-to-date by putting evidence at your fingertips and  taking the guesswork out of decision-making. Whether you’re simply looking for a helpful tool or seeking to implement a fully developed treatment program, our collaborative service models will meet you where you are and help you coordinate the best ideas from science with the local knowledge from your practice.
