As we celebrate two decades of growth, innovation, and dedication at PracticeWise, it’s hard not to reflect on where it all began. What started as a vision in the Hawaiian Islands back in 2004 has blossomed into a global movement, revolutionizing how evidence and information are used to improve behavioral and mental healthcare for children and families. Over these 20 years, we’ve partnered with providers across the world, helping them deliver the highest quality care through evidence-informed practices and tools designed to enhance clinical outcomes.

The Beginning: A Vision for Change

In 2004, PracticeWise was founded by Drs. Bruce Chorpita and Eric Daleiden, a team of forward-thinking psychologists and researchers who recognized a critical gap in the behavioral healthcare system. Despite a wealth of scientific knowledge and research available, there was a significant disconnect between evidence-based interventions and their application in real-world clinical settings. This gap created challenges for mental health providers seeking to offer the best care for youth and families in need.

Determined to change this, the team embarked on a journey to bridge this divide. They envisioned a future where clinicians had the tools, resources, and guidance they needed to deliver evidence-based treatments more effectively and efficiently. The goal was clear: to revolutionize how mental health providers engage with evidence and turn complex research into practical strategies for daily therapeutic use.

Starting from the Hawaiian Islands, the PracticeWise team developed a suite of solutions that now includes interactive technology platforms, training programs, and curated resources, all aimed at transforming clinical practice. What began as a small, dedicated team of experts has since grown into a global network, providing support to youth-serving providers worldwide.

The Importance of Evidence-Based Practice

At the core of PracticeWise’s mission is a commitment to evidence-based practice. We believe that the best care comes from utilizing the most robust scientific findings and applying them in ways that are both practical and actionable for mental health providers. Over the years, countless hours have been devoted to reviewing research, synthesizing studies, and turning data into tools that help clinicians make informed decisions.

Our approach has always been grounded in the belief that by equipping providers with the right tools and knowledge, they can make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth and families they serve. From our MATCH-ADTC system, which is used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions in children, to our MAP system that supports decision-making across diverse clinical settings, we’ve been at the forefront of translating evidence into action.

Over 20,000 registered users and more than 7,500 trained professionals have relied on PracticeWise’s resources to improve their clinical practice. These numbers are a testament to the power of evidence-based practice and the incredible partnerships we’ve fostered along the way.

Our Partners: The Heart of Our Success

While our tools and resources are essential, it’s the community of partners and providers who have truly made PracticeWise what it is today. From small clinics to large health organizations, we are proud to support a diverse group of mental health professionals dedicated to delivering top-quality care to youth and families.

Our global partners and dedicated consultant network share in our vision of a world where mental health services are grounded in science and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. These providers are on the front lines, working in schools, clinics, hospitals, and communities, using evidence-informed practices to create meaningful change. It’s their dedication, compassion, and expertise that fuel our mission and inspire us to continue innovating and expanding our offerings.

As we celebrate 20 years of impact, we want to take a moment to thank all our partners across the globe. Your trust, collaboration, and commitment to improving mental healthcare have been instrumental in PracticeWise’s journey. Together, we’ve made strides in advancing behavioral and mental healthcare, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come.
