Supporting Minnesota’s Behavioral Health Workforce in Strengthening Youth and Families
Bring Evidence-Based Decision Making Into all Aspects of Youth Treatment
Use the MAP toolkit to answer these 3 questions:
Users can quickly and easily search an extensive database of youth treatment research summaries to identify common elements of treatments that are shown to effectively help youth.
Users get access to an extensive library of guides that not only help them organize and plan treatment but also teaches them how to do the specific practices found in those evidence-based treatment protocols.
Users have access to a tool that tracks progress and practice visually to make decision-making easier.
MAP trainings and workshops are made available to providers across Minnesota through support from the Division of Human Services, Behavioral Health Division. These offerings are designed to strengthen the use of MAP in practice and help professionals deepen their skills in applying MAP tools and principles with youth and families.
Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities
This five-day, in-person training will prepare school-based mental health providers to deliver evidence-informed care under Minnesota’s Mental Health and Special Education (MH SPED) program using the Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) system. Participants will learn how to select and apply proven strategies for a wide range of student mental health needs, create individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress to make data-driven adjustments. Through hands-on practice, guided planning, and follow-up consultation, providers will gain the skills and resources needed to deliver high-quality, Medicaid-reimbursable services in school settings. This workshop also puts participants on the pathway toward earning the MAP Therapist credential, supporting both professional development and improved outcomes for students and families.
